Melnunnie – Bondi Sea Wall

On the Bondi Sea Wall we meet Matthew Brettschneider aka Melnunnie Art. As Matthew tells us ‘melnunnie’ means red in his traditional language. He is a wiradjuri man who grew up on the Lachlan River. We can see the river in his mural which reflects his love and knowledge of country. Like a lot of indigenous mural artists he uses traditional techniques giving it a contemporary twist. His music choice by The Warumpi Band also reflects the wiradjuri country.
