An exploration into the artist’s ideas and intentions behind his bold, politically charged artworks. Blak Douglas was born in 1970, Blacktown, NSW to a Dhungatti Father and Caucasian mother, a four time Archie Awards finalist and prizewinner for 2022, his bold, colourful artworks are mainly inspired by social justice and public affairs.

Blak Douglas talks about his experience on winning the Archibald prize about the Lismore flooding disaster, the political symbolism included in his piece and his survey exhibition in Penrith Gallery.
